One year. 40 weeks. Pro Teacher Certification.

step into
CERTIFIED CONFIDENCE
—a year of guided application, feedback, and community that turns science-informed concepts into repeatable, reliable teaching.
While Voice Function 101 provides us the map, and Mechanics of Mix and Belt give us the plan, the Atelier Cohort is the journey.
But instead of simply learning exercises and transfer skills, we're taking the time to develop a method—your method.
Here you don't get more info, you get space, reps, and guided feedback —so your decisions are clear and your students thrive.
This isn’t a library of exercises or a methodology to execute—it’s a working studio for YOUR pedagogy.
Welcome to our Pro Teacher Certification:
EBVW APPLIED
the atelier cohort
Our top-tier mentorship program for teachers ready to step into grad level teaching (without the classical detours).
One year. 40-weeks. And the guided application support that not only builds real-room skills but turns them into a personalized system you trust.
LET'S GO OVER SOME SPECIFICS.

THE DEETS
WHAT IS IT?
Our top-tier, one-year certification atelier for working voice teachers— 40 teaching weeks, one live session with Maddie each week rotating Guided Teaching labs and Spotlight Coaching, each with a focused "Unpack". In addition you have the option to attend the Open Peer Studio each week to get in more reps. It’s a working studio where evidence and artistry become a repeatable way you teach. Across the year you’ll log observed hours, build case studiesand a portfolio, and complete your EBVW Pro Teacher review for certification.
WHEN IS IT?
[January–December 2026] · Applications open [Fall 2025]
Maddie Sessions: One consistent weekly time (organized around cohort availability); recordings provided so you can review and stay connected even when you have to miss.
Open Peer Studio: One consistent weekly time organized by us, but run by you
(Holiday and rest/digest breaks are built in; full calendar released at admission).
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Our Weekly rhythm (A/B):
WEEK A:
Guided Teaching Lab (2hrs)
Teach a focused mini-lesson, observe a peer, and get real-time coaching. This is our mentored, working studio: hands-on reps that sharpen diagnostics, cueing, and transfer. We end with a structured Unpack so you leave with specific next steps.
WEEK B:
Studio Spotlight (90min - 2hrs)
Maddie coaches a cohort member on a relevant skill or real case while the room observes. We pause to name the decisions, language, and outcomes, then Unpack together—what to keep, what to tweak, and how to apply it in your own studio.
WEEKLY PEER STUDIO
Our weekly, optional 1-2 hr block coordinated by us but run you and your cohort—not facilitated, Recorded for your potential portfolio use. Use it to rep exercises, trade 10-minute mini-lessons, and apply Unpack notes in a truly low-stakes setting.
Unfacilitated on purpose: (more reps, more ownership, more transfer)
TIME COMMITMENT
Weekly Lives with Maddie:
2hrs/week (time determined by cohort members' availability within the range of Tuesday-Friday 12pm - 7pm ET
Open Peer Studio
unfacilitated (optional): 45–60 min
Come experiment in the lab with a group of peers. Organized by us. Run by you.
Between-session application:
Personal Studio Time - 60–90 min
Try one idea in your studio, log a quick reflection, and prep a clip or note for our next session.
IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
If you…
- have completed Voice Function 101 and Mechanics of Mix & Belt (or signing up for them in tandem with the Atelier Cohort)
- want applied coaching, not more content—clear assessments, language that lands, and results your singers feel
- are ready for taking charge of your own teaching with weekly reps, feedback, and a grad level certification without the academic baggage.
...then, UM, YEAH!
In fact, it was made exactly for you.

THE DIFFERENCE
atelier
This isn’t a course—it’s a working studio for evidence-based voice teaching. Each week we make decisions about what to target, test it out in guided labs, pressure-check it in our studios, and unpack what changed.
It’s collaborative and creative because teaching is collaborative and creative. You’ll leave with a living portfolio—plans, case studies, and clips—all that represent your unique approach,
and a PRO TEACHER CERTIFICATION to back it all up

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to take VF101 + MMB first?
-
Yes. The Practicum Lab is Level 3. You’ll get the most out of it if you’ve completed—or are actively enrolled in—the revamped Voice Function 101 and Mechanics of Mix & Belt. Concurrent enrollment is fine; the suggested viewing calendar keeps you in sync.
Do I need to take The Practicum Lab first?
-
Nope! Although you can AND we apply any payment made to The Practicum Lab and apply it to your Atelier tuition. You’ll get the most out of it if you’ve completed—or are actively enrolled in—the revamped Voice Function 101 and Mechanics of Mix & Belt. Concurrent enrollment works great, too; the suggested viewing calendar keeps you in sync.
How big are the cohort sizes?
-
6-8 members only. That's IT.
Will sessions be recorded?
-
Yes, every session will be recorded and placed into a protected library for you to revisit during your time with us.
What if I miss a lab?
-
Life happens! Use the recording for study and jump back in the following week. The suggested study calendar helps you stay on pace. You must complete 32/40 live sessions with Maddie to receive certification.
Do I need to bring a student?
-
No. You’ll work with peers in the room. (If you’d like to bring a consented recording of a student to unpack in the Open Peer Studio, you're more than welcome.)
What gear do I need?
-
Zoom, stable internet, and headphones + mic. A quiet space where you can vocalize comfortably is ideal.
How much time outside the weekly live with Maddie?
-
60–90 minutes of in studio application each week so we can discuss any discoveries made at the top of each week.
Are there payment plans or scholarships?
-
Yes. We offer payment plans at checkout and hold a small number of discounted Fellowship Seats for artists with financial need for any MTVS program (simple application).
What’s the refund policy?
-
At Maddie Tarbox Vocal Studio, we believe transformation comes from showing up fully. That’s why all enrollments are non-refundable (including full completion of any payment plan). This policy exists to protect the learning space—so everyone steps in committed, invested, and ready to do the work. It’s about creating a space where your growth has room to thrive and the community can count on each other to show up.
I’m outside the U.S.—can I join?
-
Absolutely. The Weekly Live with Maddie will be a consistent slot decided on based on cohort members' availability within the range of 12-7pm Eastern Time.
