EBVW APPLIED
the practicum lab

welcome to
LEVEL 3
Through Voice Function 101 and Mechanics of Mix & Belt, you’ve built a solid foundation. You know the tools. You understand the concepts. You have loads of exercises in your pocket.
Everything we’ve done up to this point? A powerful foundation of declarative learning (the facts, principles, concepts, and tools).
Maybe you’ve tried some of the techniques in the studio on your own. And they've already shown some awesome results.
But just like your students, you know how powerful mentorship can be in refining those skills.
It's the difference between having tools in your back pocket and knowing exactly how to use them in the moment.
Now you get to take it further with our live, boutique, practicum program:
EBVW APPLIED
the practicum lab
with guided application support, real-time feedback, and a circle of peers to grow alongside, your learning expands in ways it simply can’t via information alone.
LET'S GO OVER SOME SPECIFICS.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to take VF101 + MMB first?
-
Yes. The Practicum Lab is Level 3. You’ll get the most out of it if you’ve completed—or are actively enrolled in—the revamped Voice Function 101 and Mechanics of Mix & Belt. Concurrent enrollment is fine; the suggested viewing calendar keeps you in sync.
How big are the live labs?
-
Intentionally small. We keep the room intimate so you’ll teach, sing, and observe—not just watch. Expect at least one coached “teach” moment across the six weeks.
Will sessions be recorded?
-
Yes, every lab will be recorded and placed into a protected library for you to revisit during your time with us.
What if I miss a lab?
-
Life happens. Use the recording for study and jump back in the following week. The suggested study calendar helps you stay on pace.
Do I need to bring a student?
-
No. You’ll work with peers in the room. (If you’d like to bring a singer for one lab, ask us—depending on the week’s focus, we may be able to slot them in.)
What gear do I need?
-
Zoom, stable internet, and headphones + mic. A quiet space where you can vocalize comfortably is ideal.
How much time outside the live lab?
-
The live lab is 60–90 minutes/week. Study time is up to you—the suggested calendar helps you align the asynchronous lectures with each week’s lab focus.
Does this count toward certification?
-
Yes— financially! Any payment made towards your Practicum Lab this fall will go towards the tuition for your 2026 Atelier Cohort, should you choose to sign up.
Will I receive proof of completion?
-
Yes. You can request an EBVW Practicum completion letter/badge for studios, bios, or continuing ed documentation.
Are there payment plans or scholarships?
-
Yes. We offer payment plans at checkout and hold a small number of Fellowship Seats for artists with financial need (simple application).
What’s the refund policy?
-
At Maddie Tarbox Vocal Studio, we believe transformation comes from showing up fully. That’s why all enrollments are non-refundable (including full completion of any payment plan). This policy exists to protect the learning space—so everyone steps in committed, invested, and ready to do the work. It’s about creating a space where your growth has room to thrive and the community can count on each other to show up.
I’m outside the U.S.—can I join?
-
Absolutely. All labs run on Eastern Time; join from anywhere. If this slot isn’t workable for your timezone, keep an eye out—future cohorts rotate times.
How is this different from the 1-Year Atelier Cohort?
-
This 6-week Practicum is a focused, mentored sprint to turn tools into real-time teaching. The Atelier is your long-form mentorship (pods + rotating spotlights [working with Maddie 1-on-1]) for deeper repetition, community, and the "EVBW Pro Teacher"certification (our highest level offer).
